This year's scholarship award was presented at the Vallejo Aquatic Club's annual awards banquet held in the Vallejo Elks Lodge. The 2007 award winner is Kirsten Kearney from Vallejo, CA. Kirsten graduated from Vallejo High School with an impressive 4.41 GPA and was Valedictorian of her class. Her academic accolades include National Hispanic Scholar, AP Scholar, and Bank of America Achievement Award winner. In swimming, Kirsten was a three-year MVP ('04, '06, '07) for the Vallejo High swim team, and was team captain for both the school team and the Vallejo Aquatics Club.  She made the Zone 3 All-Star team in 2004 and was a sections qualifier three years in a row ('05, '06, '07).

Kirsten is attending UC Davis this Fall and aspires to become a veterinarian.
